CaroPure®/CaroCare® 1% CWS (cold water soluble) is a natural beta-carotene that is designed for easy dispersion in cold water and dissolution in warm water. The non-GM, preservative-free, high quality ingredient is derived from the naturally occurring micro-organism Blakeslea trispora. Food manufacturers are able to incorporate CaroPure®/CaroCare® CWS into existing formulations without the need for new processes or equipment.

The CWS formulation (1% concentration of natural beta-carotene) provides improved stability against oxidation and excellent pH, heat and UV resistance. Applications Used as a functional ingredient (antioxidant and pro-vitamin A) as well as a colourant in a wide range of food applications such as beverages and bakery and confectionery products, CaroPure®/CaroCare® CWS yields repeatable colour shades of yellow and orange depending on the dose specified.

CaroPure®/CaroCare® - Crystals

CaroPure®/CaroCare® crystals are formed from natural beta-carotene and can be used in a variety of colourant and nutritional applications. The high purity of the crystals facilitates production of numerous highly concentrated and stable formulations such as oil suspensions, CWS and beadlets. Apart from its excellent suitability for colouring a wide range of food products, the product is also an important micro-nutrient and pro-vitamin A source. The crystals provide 1.6 mln IU/gr. As such, it can be used in: nutritional formulations and dietary supplements.

Applications

Natural beta-carotene can be used in food and beverage supplements. Beta-carotene crystals are the basic raw materials or all beta-carotene formulations that find numerous applications in food colouring as well as in soft gel gelatine capsules and dry tablets. DSM is the only supplier world-wide of natural beta-carotene crystals, allowing you to produce your own formulations at low cost.
