Detection of Toxins

MYCOTOXINS :

  • Aflatoxin
  • Ochratoxin
  • Deoxynivalenol {DON}

The MYCOMONITOR Aflatoxin Assay is a competitive enzyme-linked immunoassay intended for the quantitative detection of aflatoxin B1, B2, G1 and G2 in grains, nuts, cottonseeds, cereals and other commodities including animal feeds.

Aflatoxin M1 is a toxic metabolite of Aflatoxin B1. It is produced in the livers of animals and humans that have ingested Aflatoxin B1 contaminated commodities, primarily cereal grains. It is normally excreted in the urine and also the milk of dairy cattle and other lactating mammals. Aflatoxin M1 is a genotoxic carcinogen. The test designed to be used as a quantitative or a qualitative assay. The detection is based on a competitive-type ELISA (Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay).
